48th Annual Thomas-Bridges Association Reunion This Weekend

The Thomas-Bridges Association is hosting their 48th annual reunion over the weekend which featured a Laugh and Learn session focusing on the preservation of family history Saturday morning.

Museum director and historian Penny Baucum-Fields spoke about the importance of preserving one’s family history. She shared humorous stories she has found over the years as she has worked to trace her own history.

Baucum-Fields says she has been interested in history since she was young. She stresses the value of learning about your own family’s history from your relatives while they are here to share it with you.

The Thomas-Bridges Association gathers once a year for their annual reunion. The organization is primarily for descendants of James Thomas, Sr. and Drewry Bridges, two of Trigg County’s most prominent pioneers.

The reunion will continue Saturday night with Geoff Baggett holding a Revolutionary War in a Trunk event at 7:00 as well as their Annual Program on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 in the Lexie Bush Convention Center located at 303 Complex Road in Cadiz. These events are free and all are welcome to attend.
