A large crowd gathered for the graveside funeral service for a military medic who was killed in action in 1950.
Ceremony speaker Kimberly Eberling says 19-year old Private First Class James Cletuis Williams was killed on July 20, 1950, while transporting patients from the Taejon Air Strip in South Korea.
She adds Williams received numerous awards after his death.
Williams’ remains were successfully identified through investigative efforts in 2018, with multiple Christian County agencies escorting his body to Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from the Nashville airport Wednesday morning.
The service with full military honors took place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
