Kenwood Drive Murder Trial Postponed Until 2020

The trial of the Kenwood Drive murder suspect that was set to begin later this month has been delayed.

Sergio Del Angel was scheduled to go to trial July 29 in connection to the fatal shooting of Kristofer Armstrong. However, during a hearing in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning, Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling requested a delay in order to conduct more interviews and have additional DNA testing completed on a gun that was recovered in the case.

Del Angel’s defense attorney, David Rye, agreed more interviews needed to be conducted and agreed with the motion to vacate the July trial date.

In addition, Boling told the court that a witness in the case told him she could no longer positively identify Del Angel as the shooter.
