PADD Directors Approve Budget For New Fiscal Year

The Pennyrile Area Development District (PADD) board of directors passed their 2020 fiscal year budget Monday afternoon.

Chief Administrative Officer Alisha Sutton presented the budget which included how much money they will receive from federal, state, and local sources.

She notes the Area Agency on Aging & Independent Living will see an increase of over 9% in funding, with the Community and Economic Development budget to increase over 8%. The Training and Workforce Development budget was the only agency to see a slight decrease in the amount of funding.

Sutton adds additional funding may be coming into the nine-county development district that could help with more community projects.

With over $13 million in expected revenue, nearly $4 million will be used for operating expenditures and over $9 million to be used for the community programs.

The operating budget includes nearly $3 million for total personnel expenses and nearly $600,000 for other operating expenses.
