The inaugural Hoptown Half Marathon and 5K are coming up on Saturday, September 28.
The event, presented by Planters Bank and Jennie Stuart Health is accepting registrations at HoptownHalf.com, with a price increase to take effect at the end of July.
Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman says they are expecting a large turnout for the event.

The joint road race is slated to begin in front of Ferrell’s and will wind through downtown Hopkinsville, including residential areas, beautiful Christian County countryside and finish back on the new Greenway Rail Trail.
The registration fee for the half marathon is $69 and the 5K is $40, with all proceeds to benefit the United Way of the Pennyrile.
People who finish either race will receive a t-shirt, as well as respective half-marathon or 5K medals, which feature the iconic Hoptown clock tower and other landmarks.
