The 2019 Trigg County Field of Flags came to a close Saturday morning with a special ceremony.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Steve Darnall spoke at the ceremony, sponsored by American Legion Post #74. Darnall expressed the importance of the flag, as well as highlighting the sacrifices made for it.
He shared the words spoken by a service member as they presented the flag to a family member while participating in a military funeral to demonstrate the honor associated with the flag.
Darnall reminded those who purchased a flag to always honor the flag and treat it with the respect it deserves.
Those who still need to pick up their flag can stop by the Trigg County Senior Citizen’s Center beginning July 15th.
