Trigg Hospital Looking Into Partnership With Sky Pediatric Dentistry

Trigg County Hospital is exploring the option to partner with a regional dentist to provide dental surgeries for children.

Hospital CEO John Sumner says the proposed partnership could be with Sky Pediatric Dentistry out of Bowling Green to use the surgery center. The clinic is only able to perform surgeries out of their Bowling Green office at this time.

Ambulatory Surgery Registered Nurse Lorna Crowe notes Sky Pediatric Dentistry wants to provide surgeries closer to the region, at least once a week.

Hospital CFO Don Michaels adds the partnership wouldn’t cost them a lot of money.

Both agree that the partnership could be profitable for the hospital.

Sumner adds the biggest cost for the hospital would be having two nurse anesthetists available for the surgeries, which would cost $2,000 a day.

No action was taken during the monthly meeting of the board of trustees last week. The hospital will continue to look into the partnership to make sure it would be successful.
