Former Daycare Worker Could Face More Charges

The woman arrested and charged with allegedly abusing two children at Hopkinsville First United Methodist Church could be facing additional charges.

During a pre-trial conference Wednesday in Christian Circuit Court before Judge Andrew Self, Commonwealth’s attorney Rick Boling announced there will be a superseding indictment against Allison Simpson. Boling told Judge Self that the possible new indictment will replace the existing charges that were lodged after Simpson allegedly abused two young children that were in the care of the daycare. Sources in the courtroom tell the News Edge Boling said the new charges and superseding indictment will come after investigators reviewed video footage from the daycare facility.

Simpson will be back in court for another pretrial conference August 28.
