Authorities say a woman remains in stable condition at Nashville hospital following a stabbing on Charleston Drive Saturday afternoon.
The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office reports 43-year old Rico Cavanaugh assaulted his wife 48-year old Melissa “Missy” Cavanaugh by choking her and stabbing her numerous times in the legs and torso with a kitchen knife.
Melissa was transported to Trigg County Hospital by ambulance for treatment of a serious physical injury and later transported Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Rico is charged with 1st-degree assault – domestic violence and remains lodged in the Christian County Jail.
