Public Library Announces Partnership With YMCA

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is partnering with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Family YMCA that will allow library patrons to check out a onetime pass for any fitness class that the YMCA offers.

YMCA President/CEO Sheryl Ellis says they were contacted by library Director Deanna Sova after she went to a training and learned about a program that partners libraries with the YMCA. She says the program would be an added benefit for library members and allow them the opportunity to try what the YMCA has to offer.

Ellis says they believe this will increase traffic for the library and YMCA.

Library officials indicate there will be a limited number of passes available each month to library patrons in good standing.

The onetime use pass can be picked up at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, located at 1108 Bethel Street in downtown Hopkinsville and redeemed at the YMCA, located at 7805 Eagle Way Bypass in Hopkinsville.

As the monthly patron visits continue to grow, Sova says partnering with other organizations in Christian County is the libraries on-going outreach effort to create opportunities for everyone in the community.
