KSP Hosting Traffic Safety Checkpoints In Lyon And Trigg County

Kentucky State Police Post One will be conducting several traffic safety checkpoints over the next few weeks.

State police utilize traffic safety checkpoints to promote safety for motorists. The intent of the stops is to provide for a high visibility, public safety service, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies and confirming appropriate registration and insurance. Drivers who have their operator’s license, vehicle registration receipt, and proof of insurance readily accessible and no law violations can expect a delay of up to a few minutes during a stop.

District One comprises of Lyon, Trigg, and counties westward to the Mississippi River. Traffic safety checkpoint locations in Lyon County will be at US 62 at Kentucky 810 South, Kentucky 93 at the intersection of Kentucky 293 and Highway 1055, and the United States Forest Woodlands Trace at or near the entrance to Land Between the Lakes. Checkpoints in Trigg County include US 68 Bypass – West of the Howard Anderson Bridge, Kentucky 139 North at Bush Road, and Kentucky 274 – West of the John Woodruff Bridge (near the boat ramp).
