United Way Held Community Fair In Trigg Co. Wednesday

Several partner agencies of the United Way of the Pennyrile who provide services to Trigg County residents participated in a Community Fair at the Seniors Center Wednesday.

United Way of the Pennyrile President Annie Catron tells the News Edge the purpose of the event was to let community members see what services are offered in Trigg County.

She says the event was also to raise awareness of the funding gap of what is needed by the agencies in Trigg County and what is raised. She notes they typically average requests in the county of about $45,000 and they raise between $15,000 and $25,000.

Catron adds twelve of the United Way’s twenty agencies provide services in Trigg and were invited to participate in the Community Fair. She says PACS RSVP and Meals on Wheels are United Way programs they want to continue because they offer vital services. However, she says residents may not be aware there are other agencies that offer services in Trigg County.

Catron notes the Wabash International, Bank of Cadiz and FNB Bank in Trigg County do employee campaigns. She adds they are hoping to get more companies and businesses in the county on board to do an employee campaign, whether it is a payroll deduction or if it’s just a business investing in their employees to give back to the community.

If you are interested in the services provided in Trigg County, Catron says all of the information is provided on the United Way of the Pennyrile’s website or you can call (270) 886-8171.
