Ribbon Cut On New Habitat For Humanity Home In Hopkinsville

Community members gathered Friday afternoon during a ribbon cutting at a newly constructed Hopkinsville Habitat for Humanity home on Elm Street.

Habitat Board Chairman Jacob Holland says this is the first home the organization has built in seven years.

Holland thanks the students that were a part of the Construction Technology class at Hopkinsville Community College.

Homeowner Mary Matlock adds she was excited to learn they would be recipients of a new home.

The home serves as an affordable place to live for both her and her son.

Numerous businesses in Christian County donated supplies and gave discounts on household items. Construction of the Habitat house began in late 2018 after the organization Help Build Hope donated all the interior and exterior walls.
