Finley Concerned About Tuesday Primary Election Turnout

Tuesday will be a statewide Primary Election and many western Kentucky residents may be unaware that it’s taking place.

Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley tells the News Edge not a lot of campaigning has been done in our region leading up to election day.

She expects turnout to be very low, even though the election is an important step for the November General Election.

Finley notes they will have absentee voting throughout the day Friday and Monday for voters who cannot vote Tuesday.

She adds they will be utilizing some new equipment to make signing in at the polling places easier.

Voters will have the chance to vote for candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Auditor of Public Accounts, State Treasurer, Attorney General, and Commissioner of Agriculture. The Primary Election will take place from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday.

The News Edge will provide live coverage of election results beginning at 6:00 PM on 106.5 WKDZ and 96.5 and 100.9 WHVO.
