Three Christian Co. High School Students Win 2019 Comer Art Competition

Three Christian County High School students are winners in the recent 2019 Congressional Art Competition for the 1st District of Kentucky.

Congressman James Comer’s office announced that Laura DeLoach won first place in the competition with her piece called “Euphoria”. DeLoach’s artwork will hang in the U.S. Capitol all year. She will also receive two roundtrip tickets to Washington D.C. for the national reception and is eligible for a $3,000 yearly scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design or Tennessee Wesleyan College.

Both Asjion Catlett and Kaleb Hilton tied for second place in the competition. Catlett’s “Warrior” (above) and Hilton’s “Rosy” (below) will hang in Congressman Comer’s office in Washington D.C.

Comer notes he is proud to have all of the artwork displayed both in the Capitol building and in his office and congratulates all of the students who participated in the competition.
