AT&T Continuing Work On Improving Coverage Across The State

AT&T is continuing work to improve cell phone service around the region and state.

Kentucky President Hood Harris says they were awarded a 25-year federal contract for FirstNet in late March 2017 to build, operate, and maintain the nationwide public safety broadband network.

He adds first responder communication is important when it comes to big events like the Kentucky Derby.

Harris notes an advantage to FirstNet is that cell service is reaching customers it hasn’t before in rural areas of Christian and Trigg counties.

Among other improvements, AT&T is working on include better broadband service to homes that have horrible service or none at all. The work is being done as a part of the recently approved nationwide Farm Bill.
