The Hopkinsville Rotary Club annual fundraising auction is running strong as Rotarians head into the final two nights.
The community helped pick up the pace Thursday night as Rotarians ended $350 ahead of 2018 with more than $172,200 raised. Middle and High Schools in Christian County turned $8,000 to push the Hour and Goat Club total to $19,068.
Auction Chairman Trent Haddock says he is proud of the school students in Christian County.
Rotarians sold 97 items during the fourth night of the auction to raise $18,930. Auction Chairman Trent Haddock says smoked chickens helped the Diner and Sweet Shop bring in $6,877.
Haddock says Rotarians need to sell more than 300 items Friday and Saturday night to help them meet their goal.
Lunch will be served from 11 until 1 today, with the annual Friday night Fish Fry beginning at 5:00.
The auction kicks off at 6:00 tonight at the Memorial Building in downtown Hopkinsville and can be seen online at hopkinsvillerotary.org.
