A Hopkinsville woman was arrested on a warrant for second-degree child abuse Tuesday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 33-year-old Tamelia Thomas was taking care of her 9-month-old baby when the father found that the child had a black eye and took her to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
Thomas reportedly told the father that the child fell off the couch and landed on a toy.
The baby also had a small abrasion on her forehead and red marks on her nose.
Thomas is lodged in the Christian County Jail.
