Motorists who travel KY 126 in southern Caldwell county need to be aware of an upcoming work zone lane restriction and extended road closure beginning next week.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials say that a contractor is planning to establish a work zone lane restriction along a section of KY 126 starting Monday, April 8 with a full closure of the roadway beginning Monday, April 15.
KY 126 will be restricted to one lane between Harmony Church Road and KY 514 for one week starting Monday, April 8 to allow a contractor to do some prep work for the reconstruction of the Deen Creek Bridge.
Beginning Monday, April 15, KY 126 will be closed at this site for about 45 days to allow the contractor to reconstruct the bridge sub-structure, rehab the piers and pier caps, and reconstruct the bridge deck.
Officials say the target completion date for this more than $423,000 bridge rehabilitation project is May 31.
