February Jobless Rate Falls In All 9 Pennyrile Counties

Unemployment rates fell in all nine counties in the Pennyrile District between February 2018 and February 2018, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.

Christian County’s jobless rate was 4.9 percent, down from 5.4 percent in February 2018, while Trigg County’s recorded a 5.1 percent unemployment rate, compared to 5.7 percent last year. Caldwell County’s jobless rate for February was 4.7 percent, down from 5.3 percent in February of last year and Todd County’s had the lowest unemployment rate in the Pennyrile at 4.0 percent, down from 4.4 percent. Lyon County’s jobless rate dropped to 5.4 percent from 6.3 percent in February 2018.

Livingston County recorded the highest unemployment rate in the Pennyrile District in February at 7.3 percent.

Statewide, unemployment rates fell in 108 counties, rose in seven, and stayed the same in five counties. Woodford County continued to record the lowest jobless rate in the Commonwealth at three percent, while Magoffin County continued to record the highest unemployment rate at 13.3 percent.
