Mike Foster Honored By HCC Foundation

Mike Foster

The Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) Foundation honored former Christian County Attorney Mike Foster during a reception held Tuesday afternoon.

Foster received the 2019 Bill Franklin Volunteer of the Year award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III on Sunday, February 24. That award recognizes the vital role of volunteers in institutional advancement.

Among the things Foster has done for the school include; helping inaugurate the annual golf scramble in 1990, donating highly coveted items to the foundation’s annual gala dinner, and donating to the school’s most recent capital campaign for the BuildSmart Emerging Technologies Center.Foster adds he has always felt led to help the schools he graduated from.

According to Foster, an education not only impacts your life, but also the generations that follow thereafter.

right-click to download mp3He was selected from nominees across the southeastern U.S., competing with four-year, two-year and private institutions across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Numerous community members gathered in the college Auditorium Building to celebrate and thank Foster for the variety of things he has done for the school and Hopkinsville/Christian County.
