Fiscal Court Meetings Going Live On Social Media

Beginning with the next Christian County Fiscal Court meeting, the public will be able to watch the meeting live on Facebook.

District 6 Magistrate Phillip Peterson of Pembroke previously stated at a February fiscal court meeting, it was his goal when he was elected to carry the meetings live for transparency and because the meetings are held at 8:30 in the morning when most people cannot attend. He adds a Facebook page for Christian County Fiscal Court will be set up in a couple of days and the meetings will be for informational purposes for the public.

Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says this is something new that they are going to try.
Jailer Brad Boyd informed magistrates some Christian County Jail inmates recently went to Livingston County to help with flooding issues after he received word from the sheriff that Smithland was going to flood.

In new business, magistrates approved one of three bids for janitorial and maintenance service for the Justice Center and voted to go with Brymak and Associates for a total of $146,000.

Magistrates also unanimously approved payment request number one for over $374,000 to Geothermal Earthworks, Inc. of Bowling Green, and pay request number 22 for the public safety building to a total amount of over $234,000 to various vendors. Sheriff Tyler DeArmond informed the fiscal court that his staff will be moving into the new public safety building in the next couple of weeks after tax season.

The next regularly scheduled fiscal court meeting will be Tuesday morning, March 26, at 8:30.
