Officials with the U.S. Forest Service at Land Between the Lakes are warning visitors of rising lake levels that will close some campgrounds and impact trails.
LBL officials say Piney Campground, Cravens Bay and Smith Bay will close Friday with other campgrounds having some restrictions.
LBL Area Supervisor Tina Tilley says in a release they are excited to get people back outside but please use caution. Due to the recent rains and high winds, she notes they already have a lot of trees down and they expect more. She asks that downed trees be reported to (270) 924-2000.
LBL officials encourage visitors to exercise caution and use boat ramps at their own risk.
