2 Charged With Shoplifting In Hopkinsville

A Hopkinsville man and woman are charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition Sunday afternoon.

According to a Hopkinsville Police report, 35-year-old Gary Wood and 37-year-old Ashley Wood were allegedly concealing and removing razors and toys from the Indian Hills Thrift Store.  An employee of the store was them taking the items and the theft was confirmed by store surveillance video.

Employees of the store reportedly found Gary Wood had taken a razor out of the box and replaced it with a cheaper razor.  Wood allegedly then put the box back on the display table. The couple were also observed passing items through clothing racks.

After employees contacted Gary Wood he allegedly returned the razor, but it was not able to be sold again.  As Wood returned the razor, he reportedly invaded the personal space of the manager and said “this ain’t over between you and me”.

Gary Wood was also charged with intimidating a participant in a legal process.
