UPDATE- 2 Arrested After Police Pursuit In Hopkinsville

Two men have been arrested after a police pursuit at speeds of 70 MPH in Hopkinsville Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Police Sergeant Edward Eastman said he attempted to stop a car on South Campbell Street after the driver Malcolm Bell failed to stop at a stop sign or use his turn signal and he fled at speeds of 70 MPH. The pursuit was stopped after Bell passed a vehicle at a high rate of speed with several children on the side of the road and in the street.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office found the vehicle pulling behind a home on Butler Road just past the intersection of East 1st Street and when deputies attempted to stop the vehicle three men fled on foot.

Bell and Jarontae Taylor were located but police have not found the third man. Taylor reportedly had a handgun that was reported stolen out of Clarksville and Bell had ecstasy pills on him.

Taylor is charged with receiving stolen property, possession of handgun by convicted felon and two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police.

Bell was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, speeding, improper passing, failure to or improper signal, disregarding stop sign, operating on suspended/revoked operators license and two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police.
