Forecasters Still Watching For Potential Severe Weather Saturday

Meteorologists are continuing to monitor the potential for severe weather that could affect the region Saturday.

During a conference call with the Paducah National Weather Service Friday morning, lead forecaster Chris Noles says the region is under a slight risk for severe storms for Saturday afternoon. He adds far western Kentucky could see some storms developing during the early afternoon hours.

The main concern for the Pennyrile region would be during the late afternoon/early evening hours.

Noles reports the main concern for severe storms Saturday afternoon would be damaging winds and the possibility of tornadoes, and with already saturated grounds there could be other problems.

Hydrologist Mary Lamm says the region will remain under a Flash Flood Watch through Midnight Saturday night.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated throughout the day Saturday by providing updates on the weather blog and Your Weather Edge on Facebook.

If severe weather breaks out, we break in on 106.5 WKDZ and 96.5 & 100.9 WHVO. Also on our website streams at wkdzradio.com and whvoradio.com.
