Jennie Stuart Breaks Ground On Expansion For Cancer Center

Doctors, staff, and community members gathered inside the E.C. Green Cancer Center at Jennie Stuart Health Friday afternoon to celebrate an expansion for the facility.

Dr. Michael Murray, Radiation Oncologist says the expansion will allow them to take care of more patients at the same time.

Murray explained the construction process that includes bringing in new state-of-the-art equipment, making Jennie Stuart the first hospital in Kentucky to have it. The new equipment will help patients with cancer quicker than ever before.

The cancer center named after Emma Campbell Green broke ground in 1989 and has served numerous patients throughout the region over the last thirty years.
