Area Resident Helping To Rebuild Homes In Virgin Islands

A Hopkinsville resident has been among numerous Americans helping to rebuild the U.S. Virgin Islands after hurricanes Irma and Maria blew through in 2017.

Harvey McCraw, an area homebuilder tells the News Edge they have been down there for nearly a year helping to rebuild the homes devastated by high winds and water.

McCraw says they are now going back to the homes to provide a more permanent fix for the roofs.

He adds crews have worked numerous months without a day off.

According to McCraw, it is a great thing to be able to help families rebuild their lives.

McCraw will enjoy a few more days off at home and then heads back to the Virgin Islands to help even more families.
