UPDATE: Substation Fire Causes Power Outage In Hopkinsville

A fire at a power substation on Calvin Drive at Bradshaw Road caused a power outage in Hopkinsville Tuesday morning.

According to Hopkinsville Fire Department Battalion Chief Phillip Ferguson, a fire in a control room for the power substation caused the power outage.

No one was injured in the fire.
Hopkinsville Electric System General Manager Jeff Hurd says a fire at Superior Graphite tripped one of the breakers at the substation. He says power has been restored to all customers served by the Calvin Drive substation.
