Trial Continued For Former Deputy Charged With Theft

The trial date set for a former deputy accused of theft from a juvenile services agency was continued until March after a special prosecutor was recently appointed to the case.

Steve Tucker and his defense attorney, H.B. Quinn, along with Special Prosecutor, Justin Crocker appeared before Judge Andrew Self for a pretrial conference in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon. Judge Self asked Crocker if he was prepared to go to trial February 14, at which time Crocker asked for a continuance due to prior obligations on and around that date. Judge Self granted Crocker’s request and set the trial to begin March 4.

Judge Self also scheduled another pretrial conference for Wednesday afternoon, February 20, at 1:00.

Tucker is charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $10,000 but Less Than $1 million. Kentucky State Police allege Tucker stole $55,000 from the Christian County Juvenile Services Foundation when he served as president.
