The Hopkinsville High School Band of Tigers has a few big events coming up over the next two weeks.
Band Director Seth Peveler says the band will get to perform at the KMEA Conference next Thursday, but they will put on a special performance this weekend in Hopkinsville.

Peveler adds it is a huge honor to perform at the yearly conference.

The community performance will begin at noon Saturday at the Performing Arts Center next to Christian County Middle School. The performance will be free and will feature well-known flute player Jim Walker, according to Peveler.

Walker, who is a Muhlenberg County native will also perform with the band at the conference next week.
