Hopkinsville Police Officers Share Baby Delivery Story

Two Hopkinsville Police Officers say the experience of bringing a life into the world on the evening of Monday, January 14, is one they will not forget.

Officers Lori Krysewski and Nina Wright were at the right place at the right time to help a lady, who was on her way to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, have her baby in the parking lot of the Marathon Convenience Store at the corner of 9th and Campbell Streets. Officer Krysewski says she was doing paperwork at the station when the call came in.

Officer Wright says they tried to persuade the lady to wait, but the baby had other plans.

They say they visited the family in the hospital the night the baby was born, but have allowed them to have their privacy. Both joked the baby could not be named after either of them since it was a boy.
