Several special activities are planned in Hopkinsville over the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend.
Mayor Carter Hendricks announced during Tuesday night’s city council meeting that a Focus 21 Minority Leadership breakfast will be held Saturday morning.

He notes there will be a special MLK, Jr. service Sunday afternoon 2:30 at First Street Missionary Baptist Church. Hendricks says the annual march will start Monday morning at the Boys and Girls Club.

Following the march, he notes there will a special church service at 11:00 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

The mayor also reminds the public the City’s offices will be closed Monday in observance of the MLK, Jr. holiday.
