Man Charged With Promoting Contraband In Caldwell

A Hopkinsville man, currently incarcerated in the Caldwell County Jail, has been charged with several counts of promoting contraband after two separate incidents on Wednesday.

According to a Princeton Police report, officers responded to a complaint at Caldwell Medical Center ER just before 7:30 Wednesday morning concerning an inmate Caldwell County Jail deputies had taken there for treatment. Deputies revealed they had taken the suspect, 25-year-old Austin King, to the ER because he had ingested a condom filled with prescription pills.

King was then charged with two counts of promoting contraband first degree.

Later, around 4:22 Wednesday afternoon, officers responded to a complaint at the jail concerning an inmate who was found with contraband. Deputies stated that they had found prescription pills and tobacco on King after he returned from a court appearance in Trigg County.

King was then charged with promoting contraband first degree and promoting contraband second degree.
