A trial date has been set for a Cerulean woman accused of setting fire to a mobile home on Princeton Road in Christian County last year.

Court officials report 32-year old Karen Brafman and her attorney Eric Bearden appeared for a pretrial conference in Christian Circuit Court before Judge John Atkins Wednesday morning. Judge Atkins continued the case and set a trial date for March 28th.

Brafman is charged with first-degree arson and six counts of attempted murder, second-degree arson and retaliating against a participant in a legal process. The Commonwealth tacked on hate crimes to the arson and attempted murder charges because they allege the incident was racially motivated. The charges stem from the morning of May 11, 2018, when Kentucky State Police reported Brafman set fire to a mobile home occupied by Craig Calloway and Ashley Webster at 8894 Princeton Road. The two adults and four children were able to escape the home safely and no one was injured.
