Marion Man Sought By KSP Captured In Florida

A Marion man being sought by Kentucky State Police since mid-December for parole violations and alleged thefts has been captured in Florida.

According to The Crittenden Press, 31-year old Brian Fitzgerald was taken into custody at Walmart near Vero Beach, south of Orlando, by Indian River County deputies.

As previously reported by the News Edge, KSP Post 1 Lieutenant Dean Patterson said Fitzgerald was wanted for theft over $10,000 and by Kentucky Probation and Parole officers for absconding parole. He said Fitzgerald had a history of being armed and physically violent and should be considered dangerous.

The newspaper article says Crittenden County Sheriff Wayne Agent was notified early Wednesday morning that Fitzgerald had been arrested following a short foot chase that began when he was involved in an alleged shoplifting incident at Walmart. He told the paper investigators in Florida were working on getting a warrant to search Fitzgerald’s vehicle.
