John L. Street Library Thankful For Community Support

The John L. Street Library is thanking the community for a successful campaign of collecting clothing items for children.

Library Director Pam Metts tells the News Edge they were overwhelmed by all the underwear they collected for their first ‘Drop Your Drawers’ campaign.

She adds they have a lot of activities planned for the new year, one of which is a computer coding class for girls.

The coding class for 3rd to 5th-grade girls will begin on January 23 and the middle and high school class will start on January 30. The class will help girls determine if they would like a coding career in the future, according to Metts.

Any girls interested in the coding class can stop by the library on Main Street or visit jlslibrary.org to register.
