Jason Barnes was officially sworn in for his first term as Trigg County Sheriff Thursday evening.
Barnes was congratulated by a crowd of friends and family at the Trigg County Courthouse by Judge Executive Hollis Alexander.
Barnes tells the News Edge his first month in office has been a good one.
Barnes adds there are some changes coming this year for the sheriff’s office.
Barnes is expected to present his budget to Trigg County Fiscal Court magistrates during Monday evening’s meeting. The sheriff’s budget for the year must be approved by January 15.
Barnes was joined by family and friends during the ceremony held at the Trigg County Courthouse Annex.
