Hopkinsville Woman Arrested After Hit And Run

Katricka Wilson/Christian Co. Jail

Police say a Hopkinsville is facing DUI and other charges after a hit and run investigation late Friday night.

According to the citation, an officer was talking with the hit and run victim at the corner of East 1st Street and Greenville Road around 11:00 Friday night and was informed a red car that was passing the scene was the suspect vehicle from the wreck. The officer stopped the vehicle on East 1st Street and found no one in the driver’s seat, but saw 23-year old Katricka Wilson in the backseat and her driver’s license and credit cards in the driver’s seat. Wilson reportedly told police she had three drinks at a Christmas party prior to the traffic stop. Police say field sobriety tests were stopped due to her being unsteady on her feet and she was placed under arrest.

At the jail, police say Wilson became belligerent with staff and slipped one hand out of the handcuff, at which time she was taken to the ground and restrained by two officers in order to place her hand back in the handcuff. She was lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, third-degree escape, and resisting arrest.
