A Marshall County man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the death of a Benton man earlier this month. Benton Police report 53-year old Jonathan “Danny” Williams of Benton was taken into custody Wednesday and charged in the death of 54-year old Billy Lee.
Benton Police received a call around 4:45 on December 1 after Lee was found deceased in the living room of his home. Officers suspected foul play due to evidence found at the scene that indicated Lee had been assaulted.
According to police, an autopsy was completed on December 3 at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville in which preliminary results confirmed Lee died as a result of injuries sustained from multiple blunt force trauma and emphysematous changes in the lungs.
Williams was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Facility.
