A Trigg County couple was arrested and facing charges after a domestic incident Saturday evening.
Cadiz Police were called out to a residence on East Noel Street where someone had been assaulted. When officers arrived, they found 33-year old Stephanie Grabbe who stated her boyfriend, 36-year old Benjamin Burks had punched her in the nose and pushed her to the ground. Grabbe told police she hit Burks with a baseball bat to get him off of her. While on the on the scene, police received another call stating Burks was at a Dean Road address and had been assaulted with a bat.
Grabbe refused treatment on scene by EMS, but Burks was transported to Trigg County Hospital for treatment of injuries. Grabbe later requested to be taken to the hospital where police say she became belligerent and aggressive toward officers and hospital staff.
Grabbe faces 2nd-degree assault and 1st-degree disorderly conduct, while Burks is facing a 4th-degree assault charge. Both were lodged in the Christian County Jail.
