Hopkinsville Man Charged With Robbery And Kidnapping

A disturbance call at a fast food restaurant on Fort Campbell Boulevard Monday morning landed a Hopkinsville man behind bars facing charges.

Upon arrival, Hopkinsville Police say they made contact with the female victim and witnesses who stated 20-year old Garrett Rennison entered Dunkin Donuts at 10:48 a.m. and went behind the counter where he grabbed the female victim by the neck. Rennison then allegedly took her cell phone out of her pocket and tried to drag her out of the restaurant by her neck, but she was able to fight him off at which time he left the restaurant and got into a vehicle and left the scene. Police stopped the vehicle at Susan Drive and Marietta Drive and Rennison was taken into custody without incident.

Officers say the female victim reportedly sustained an injury to her elbow, knuckle, and neck during the incident. Rennison is the victim’s ex-boyfriend and the victim said he had been sending her text messages threatening to beat her.

Rennison was booked into the Christian County Jail charged with first-degree robbery and kidnapping.
