Eyewitness Describes Destruction From Alaska Quake (w/Photos)

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake shook Anchorage, Alaska Friday morning, causing major damages throughout the area and prompting a tsunami warning  to be issued.

Former Hopkinsville resident and police officer Jeff Townsend, who lives in Alaska, tells the News Edge he was in Anchorage when the 7.0 quake hit and caused extensive damages.

Fortunately, he says a tsunami did not hit but the damage in the area is unreal.

Townsend says homes and businesses also suffered structural damages.

Aftershocks have continued to rattle the area since Friday morning’s big quake, the largest of which was reported to be a 5.8.
