The deadline for submissions for the Hopkinsville Christmas Parade has been extended.
Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Programs Coordinator Toby Hudson says everyone is invited to be a part of the annual parade, and they will be taking submissions through noon Wednesday, November 28.
Hopkinsville Electric System and Energynet is the sponsor of the December 8th nighttime parade that begins at 5:15 at Christian County Middle School and follows Main Street through downtown Hopkinsville. The theme for the parade is Songs of Christmas and the Grand Marshal will be Hopkinsville native and country-singer/songwriter Brice Long.
Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman adds ice skating will take over Founders Square the weekend of the parade.
Brockman says there will be several sessions for ice skating.
Brockman and Hudson were guests on Hoptown This Morning and the Country Club morning shows on WHVO and WKDZ.
