Kenwood Drive Murder Trial Set To Begin Monday Postponed

The trial set to begin Monday in Christian Circuit Court for a Hopkinsville man accused in the 2017 Kenwood Drive murder has been postponed.

During a pretrial conference last week, attorney David Rye, who represents Sergio Del Angel, presented a motion to Judge John Atkins requesting a continuance of the trial based on he needed more time to review ballistics and other reports. Judge Atkins did not rule on the motion and scheduled a pre-trial conference for Thursday in which he granted the motion and vacated the trial. Judge Atkins did not set another trial date but scheduled another pre-trial conference for January 9th.

Del Angel is charged with the alleged fatal shooting of Kristofer Armstrong on a porch of a Kenwood Drive home on May 11, 2017.
