Board Approves Sponsorship Opportunities For Sports Facilities

Christian County School Board members are moving forward with offering sponsorship opportunities to businesses or individuals as a way to generate funds to maintain and update some sports facilities owned by the school district.

Last month, Chief Operations Manager Brad Hawkins presented the proposed invitation to bid for naming rights of the Stadium of Champions but board members asked him to make some revisions by adding four other sporting facilities as well as reducing the term of the contract. At Thursday night’s regular board meeting, Hawkins presented the revisions for sponsorships bids and naming rights.

He says the six invitations to bid are very similar with a little variation pertaining to athletic passes for sponsors.

The revision also includes reducing the contract to five years beginning July 1, 2019. Board members also agreed they would start accepting bids at the regular school board meeting in February 2019.

Board members unanimously approved the motions for the intent to bid for sponsorship opportunities and contract for sponsorships.

The next school board meeting will be Thursday evening, December 6, at 6:00.
