Adkins Announces Run For Kentucky’s Governor Seat

Kentucky’s House Minority Floor Leader Rocky Adkins has thrown his hat in the ring to run for governor in 2019. Adkins made the announcement Wednesday afternoon at the Morehead Conference Center. Adkins has been a member of the state House of Representatives since 1987 and was elected as the Minority Floor Leader ins 2016.

Reports indicate Adkins has selected Stephanie Horne, a member of the Jefferson County Board of Education, as his running mate for Lieutenant Governor.

Attorney General Andy Beshear announced earlier this year he would also be a Democratic candidate for governor. According to reports, former Auditor Adam Edelen is expected to announce he’s running for the governor, along with Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes and state Representative Attica Scott who are also considering running.
