Magistrates Approve Bid For Jail Security System

Christian County Fiscal Court magistrates approved a bid for the jail’s security system and renewed a lease for maintenance of Pennyrile State Resort Park during Tuesday morning’s meeting.

Christian County Jailer Brad Boyd explained to magistrates the former contractor started the work on the security system but failed to finish and they had to rebid the work.

Magistrates approved the lone bid from Southwest Communications of Decatur, Alabama for more than $318,000.


In other business, Community Development Specialist Ashley Johnson advised magistrates the lease renewal is for the County to maintain a portion of Pennyrile Forest State Park.

In other action, magistrates approved the final two payments for the Alhambra Theatre roof project for a total of more than $225,000 to Swift Roofing, as well as a payment for the renovations to the inside of the theater for nearly $37,000.


Magistrates also approved Judge-Executive Steve Tribble’s recommendation to reappoint Ron Adams to the Christian County Water District Board for another four-year term.

The next fiscal court meeting will be on Tuesday morning, November 27, at 8:30.
