Trigg Schools Receive Clean Audit Report

The Trigg County Board of Education heard the results from the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 audit and approved to move forward into the next step of the renovation project for the primary and intermediate school.

Anna Gentry of Duguid, Gentry, and Associates presented an overview of the over 100-page report and said the district received a clean opinion.

Gentry adds there were no findings and noted the school continues to make improvements in the area of the Red Book.

In other business, the board went over recommendations made by teachers and community members for the renovation project that will start next year for the primary and intermediate school.

Justin McElfresh

Justin McElfresh from Sherman Carter Barnhart says they will take all recommendations made during a visioning session on Monday and bring concepts to the board at a future meeting.

The primary and intermediate school renovations are expected to begin during the summer of 2019 and will provide modern updates to the building that is over 50 years old.
