Hopkinsville Parks And Recreation Honored With KRPS Award

Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation was recognized last night at the 65th Kentucky Recreation and Parks Society (KRPS) Awards Dinner at Lake Barkley State Resort Park as the top Parks and Recreation Division in the state for the second time in three years. Hopkinsville Park and Recreation also claimed the award in 2016.

Each year, a release says the Kentucky Recreation and Parks Society recognizes a recreation department or agency that has demonstrated outstanding contributions in leisure services and shown innovative programs and demonstrated outstanding achievement in one or more areas in all facets of parks and recreation programs.

During the dinner, Brockman said he has the best team in the world — a group of individuals who come together to work tirelessly for the community. He added they always say that Parks and Rec works so the Hopkinsville and Christian County community can play. He noted that happens because they take pride in their jobs and making a difference in the lives of residents.

In addition to the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation award, Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble was named Outstanding Public Official, while WHOP Radio was presented with the Communication Award.
